Richmond-based Mapcom's John Granger Earns NTCA 2010 Associate Member Outstanding Achievement Award
September 21, 2010 Arlington, Va.- The National Telecommunications Cooperative Association (NTCA) honored John Granger as recipient of the 2010 NTCA Associate Member Outstanding Achievement Award. Granger is the president of Mapcom Systems, based in Richmond, Va.
A 30 year telecom industry veteran, Granger is an active member of NTCA and has served as the chairman of both the NTCA Associate Member Advisory Committee and the EXPO Advisory Committee. Granger has also appeared as a speaker at NTCA conferences, state telecom meetings and regional events.
"We are pleased to honor John for his years of dedicated service to advancing the interests of the rural telecom industry and for his expertise in educating our members about solutions that can help them streamline operations," said NTCA Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield.
The NTCA Associate Member Outstanding Achievement Award was created to honor associate members who have performed extraordinary service for the benefit of the telecommunications industry. The award is presented to an individual currently or previously employed by an associate member company in recognition of effective leadership and long-term involvement in NTCA, along with outstanding accomplishments and contributions on behalf of independent telecommunications companies at the local, state and national levels.
The award was presented Tuesday at NTCA's 2010 Fall Conference in St. Louis, Mo.
