Arlington, Va. (September 10, 2013) – Several members of NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association will travel to the nation's capital this week to meet with various members of Congress regarding key policy issues, including universal service, spectrum allocation and video distribution.
Twelve NTCA members representing South Carolina, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, Iowa, New Mexico, Louisiana and Georgia will participate in the association's grassroots SPIRIT (Supporting Policy Initiatives for Rural Independent Telecommunications) fly-in on September 11.
In addition, a number of members have already notified the association that they will be traveling to Washington for the remaining fly-in events scheduled this year: October 8 and December 11.
During the August congressional recess, members from nine states attended town hall meetings, visited their congressional members' district offices and/or hosted policymakers at their company facilities.
NTCA encourages all members to participate in grassroots advocacy and relationship-building events to ensure the rural voice is heard. For more information on SPIRIT initiatives, contact the government affairs team at email@example.com.
