Arlington, Va. (October 30, 2013) – NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association today issued the following statement from Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield in response to the Senate’s confirmations of Tom Wheeler and Michael O’Rielly to the FCC:
“I congratulate Mr. Wheeler and Mr. O’Rielly on their respective confirmations to serve on the FCC. We look forward to working with both of them and their staffs to deliver on a shared vision of universal broadband access. We know that both of these policymakers appreciate the need for a stable, well-defined regulatory climate and robust, sufficient universal service mechanisms to facilitate investment in and upgrade of broadband-capable, IP-enabled networks in hard-to-serve areas such as those in which NTCA members operate.”
