Arlington, Va. (January 19, 2017)—NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association today congratulated former Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue on his selection by president-elect Donald Trump to serve as secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
“We congratulate Gov. Perdue on his selection for agriculture secretary, rounding out President-elect Trump’s cabinet,” said NTCA Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield.
“Thanks in large part to partnerships with USDA and its Rural Utilities Service, NTCA members have worked for decades to invest in our nation’s future by deploying state-of-the-art, advanced communications infrastructure in the most rural, hard-to-reach areas of the country. “NTCA looks forward to working with Gov. Perdue once confirmed to ensure that all Americans, including those in the most remote portions of our country, can share in the benefits of robust and affordable communications services.”
