Job Description:

General Summary:

The Business Development Specialist (BDS) has oversight of the cooperative’s broadcast and production activities. The BDS will also provide analysis of service take rates, provide sales and market forecasts, evaluate new products and services, develop bundle structures, and work closely with the Director of Marketing to develop campaigns to drive new revenue in both new and existing markets.

Essential Job Functions:

 Provide oversight and guidance to all sales activities
 Perform an inventory of existing revenue producing products and services and develop plan to maximize revenue streams
 Work with the technical team to develop new products and services and bring to market
 Provide analytical data on the take rates of services
 Develop plan to minimize churn
 Provide sales and marketing forecasts
 Develop service bundles
 Monitor the success of sales and marketing campaigns and prepares cost-benefit analysis of the campaigns
 Identify and network with potential new businesses and develop relationships with key existing businesses
 Identify and network with economic development officials and elected and appointed local leadership in service area
 Plan and execute budget and operating plans for department(s)
 Maintain necessary skill sets and educational awareness as required by evolving responsibilities
 Responsible for the company brand and image strategy and implementation plan
 Assist in creation of sales promotions and in the development and implementation of marketing plans
 Serve as PRTC representative at local and state functions as required
 Other duties as requested by management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 Strong knowledge of sales and customer service concepts
 Strong knowledge of analytical analysis
 Ability to quickly learn new products and services
 Working knowledge of telecommunications products and services
 Knowledge of Microsoft business productivity software such as Outlook, Exchange, SharePoint, eLation, and Office
 Working knowledge of business voice, data, wireless and related systems and applications
 Working knowledge of the Internet, cloud concepts, DR concepts and new technologies
 Must be motivated and able to perform duties with minimal supervision
 Requires strong verbal and written communications skills
 Must be comfortable performing public speaking duties and presenting to small groups

Education and Experience:

 Degree in Sales or Marketing preferred
 Three years of sales management experience, three years of customer service experience, or three years of marketing experience


Evaluation Criteria:

 Sales management, customer service experience, and/or marketing experience
 Specialized training, education and certifications
