Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 DOE

Position opens February 21, 2012 and closes March 21, 2012
(Salary placement within the range depends on qualifications and budget constraints)

Applications are invited for the full-time position of Data Services Manager for CC Communications. Position is responsible for organizational development and daily operations of a data services organization. Provides technical expertise, marketing and sales, and operational control in areas of information systems design, software programming and development, information business strategies and system analysis, and end user training and support. Must be able to understand how a system configuration is structured for an existing system – including data processing trends and managerial issues – and recommend, sell, and support the best hardware and software solutions for a new system. Knowledge of midrange and mainframe systems may be required.
This responsibility includes but is not limited to:

• Formulate and deploy long-term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective information processing and communication technologies.
• Manage Data Services department operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
• Knowledge of various system configurations and platforms is critical, as is the ability to apply technology to business process in a wide range of industries, with a focus on small to medium businesses in a rural area.
• Lead strategic technological planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies.
• Develop and maintain a technology plan to support the Data Services Enterprise (DSE.)


Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of training, education and experience that would provide the required skills, knowledge and abilities needed to perform the assigned duties. A typical way to acquire the required skills, knowledge and abilities is:

• Completion of the requirements for a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems AND
• Five years progressively responsible experience in related field, OR Business administration with technology as a core component.
• Certifications in MSITP, CompTIA, IT Network Certifications desired.


Experience should also indicate:

• Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management, and policy development.
• Good understanding and technical knowledge of current network and PC operating systems, hardware, protocols, and standards.
• Must have experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a current Nevada driver’s license.
• Candidate may be subject to a criminal background check and a drug/alcohol screen.
• Must reside in Churchill County or relocate.

• Retirement – Public Employee Retirement (PERS) – A defined benefit plan paying 2.67% for each year of service. Benefit payment is based on the average of the 36 highest consecutive months of service. Company pays 100% of contribution, and employee has no Social Security deduction.
