Director Core Curriculum (DCC) Certificate

Director Core Curriculum (DCC) Certificate

Image: DCC logoNTCA's Director Core Curriculum (DCC) Certificate program has been around for over ten years. The DCC program recognizes directors who have attended the recommended courses. It does not indicate mastery of the educational content. Only courses offered by NTCA may be utilized to earn the certificate. The certificate program retroactively includes core curriculum courses for directors who were new to their responsibilities beginning in calender year 1996. Eligible courses are offered in rotation at NTCA meetings and conferences, online and at stand-alone seminars. Courses are designed to expose directors to the principles and concepts that will help them become highly effective members of their telco board.

Directors of commercial companies must complete the first eight courses listed on the checklist below. Directors of cooperatives must take two additional courses, "Reviewing and Updating Your Bylaws" and "Understanding Capital Credits," which are deemed essential to understanding their role as members of the cooperative’s board.

Summary transcripts are sent to telco managers each December. In the intervening months, members may print the Course Requirements Checklist to track progress toward DCC program completion.
