Key employees may be enrolled by their general manager in NTCA’s Key Employee Certificate (KEC) program. The series of required courses and electives will expose KEC enrollees to industry and professional development principles to help them become high performance employees. Credit for these courses are offered in rotation at NTCA meetings and conferences, online and at stand-alone seminars.

Participants in the program must complete each of the 11 required events listed in the course requirements checklist below. Another nine courses should be selected from the list of 14 electives, with an eye toward enhancing the employee’s knowledge of the industry or toward achieving specific personal and professional development goals. A total of 20 credits are needed to earn the certificate.

The KEC program recognizes enrolled key employees of NTCA member telcos who have attended the required and elective courses. It does not indicate mastery of the educational content. Only courses offered by NTCA may be used to earn the certificate.

Summary transcripts are sent to telco managers each December. In the intervening months, members may print the Course Requirements Checklist to track progress toward KEC program completion.

Employees may track their progress in the program by accessing their transcripts at NTCA's Web site's Education section. Simply click "View my Transcript" to check your record.
