NTCA

Rural telecommunications is our business.

We are the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association. Since 1954, the voice of small, rural telecommunications carriers connecting the heartland of America to the world.

We are community-based, locally owned companies, dedicated to providing vital telecommunications services—ensuring the economic future of rural America.

We are more than 570 member companies that provide local phone, wireless, Internet, cable, satellite and long-distance service to some of the most remote, sparsely populated areas of the nation. Rural telecommunications is our business. Our companies are the leaders in providing the best telecommunications services to small town America.

OPASTCO

With more than four decades of commitment to rural telecommunications’ success, OPASTCO is a national trade association that:

  • Represents approximately 460 rural local exchange carriers (LECs) and their affiliate telecommunications companies.
  • Advocates rural telecom policy before Congress and the FCC for LEC members with fewer than 100,000 access lines.
  • Includes LEC members’ affiliates operating in telecommunications markets such as long distance, Internet, broadband networks, cable television, IP video and wireless.
  • Provides educational programs, conventions and publications that create forums for sharing rural telecom knowledge.
  • Supports rural education and community development through its non-profit foundation, the Foundation for Rural Education and Development (FRED).
