Windstream Invests in $20M in Fiber Network

Windstream announced last week that it plans to invest approximately $20 million to expand its core and backhaul fiber network. The rural carrier says that its network will deliver more bandwidth to wireless carriers, and Ethernet and next-generation technologies to business customers. Read more
Qwest Upgrades Ethernet Backbone to 100 Gbps

Qwest Communications has begun upgrading its Ethernet backbone to 100 Gbps. The buildout will continue throughout 2010.
Qwest said that once the upgrade is complete, the 100 Gbps backbone will deliver service to markets where the company offers its Ethernet-based iQ Networking and QWave data networking services. Read more
