Google TV Struggles with Delays and Bad Press

The powers that be at Sharp, LG Electronics and Toshiba cannot be pleased with the recent request by Google to delay the Consumer Electronic Show “unveiling” of each company’s Google TV products. Google indicates that it needs time to refine and perfect the software, which so far has met with mediocre reviews.

Google also has caused a delay for computer makers who waited for the roll-out of the new ChromeOS, leaving many with nothing new to offer for the holiday shopping season.

VOTW: Toshiba’s No Glasses 3D TVs

And last but not least, our video of the week (VOTW). Toshiba is readying two new 3D TVs that can produce images with the illusion of depth but don’t require the user to wear glasses.

3D Without the Glasses?

“Autostereoscopic,”  is the term for what Toshiba says it will employ with a new line of 3D television sets that are predicted to be on the market before the end of this year.  The term autostereoscopic is used to describe the process in which the viewer is not required to wear glasses to see the dimensional image.
