T-Mobile Discontinues @Home VoIP Service

T-Mobile announced January 7 that it will no longer offer its landline replacement service, @Home, which allowed customers to place VoIP calls over their home broadband connection.

The service was offered to T-Mobile’s wireless subscribers for an additional $9.99/month. The wireless carrier will continue to provide the service for current users, but will not be offering it to new customers.

“The needs of our customers are constantly changing, and T-Mobile must foresee and adapt to those changes,” a T-Mobile spokesperson said in a statement.

Of note, it appears T-Mobile will continue to offer its femtocell offering, Hotspot@Home service, which enables customers to route wireless calls over their broadband pipe.
