Job Description

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for Central office equipment, installation and maintenance of the switching, transmission, and Data systems as part of the Service Network. Responsibilities include the management and maintenance of all IP Centric/TDM Central Office equipment that encompasses all voice and data product offerings

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
 Install and maintain central office switching and transmission equipment, power equipment, motor generators, batteries, T1s, DS3, Digital Cross Connects, Fiber/DWDM/CWDM Multiplexers, Microwave Radios, IP based DSLAMS. Installation and testing of Ethernet circuits, and other telecommunications equipment commonly used within the telecommunications industry.

 Ensure all network systems are working at prescribed levels. Troubleshoot and solve network problems. Keep maintenance log records up to date as required, showing date and detail of work performed.

 Responsible with other technicians for cleanliness and general appearance of all switch and transmission buildings. Be available for trouble call-out on 24-hour basis. Coordinate availability with other technicians.
