Job Description

Job Summary
Operationally responsible for all accounting related activities, including high-level accounting, managerial accounting and finance activity. Supervises a small accounting staff and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. Prepares cost variance analyses and analyzes financial information for special projects and to support financial investment, operational and strategic planning activities. Assists with budget preparations. Needs to be able to adapt to specialized accounting principles (telecommunications and technology) although still within the confines of GAAP. Ideal candidate will have their CPA and several years of accounting experience.

Essential Job Functions
• Overseeing the ongoing accounting process and closing monthly books in a timely manner
• Monitors cash flow
• Administers long term debt
• Provides leadership for the annual Budget process
• Prepares for year-end CPA and other audits
• Retains Company records by adhering to and monitoring the Company’s records retention policy
• Completes department’s monthly and yearly work requirements
• Provides leadership and sustains the organization
• Coordinates with other departments
• Achieves financial objectives by preparing and adhering to departmental capital and expense budgets
• Provides guidance for the department supervisors and staff
• Complies with legal requirements
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• A thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting rules
• Ability to operate computer terminal and personal computer using standard accounting software as well as Excel and various analysis software (Power BI, etc.)
• Ability to analyze financial information through utilization of knowledge of accounting practices, rules and regulations
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments
• Ability to communicate with management, employees and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner as well as make oral presentations to groups.
• Ability to make sound decisions using information on hand

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree, at a minimum, and no fewer than 150 hours of college education (as required to sit for CPA exam)
• CPA Certificate or in process
• Management and/or supervisory experience preferred
• Telecommunication, Technology or other business experience a plus
