This position is responsible for all activities related to Blackfoot’s governmental, legislative, regulatory, and public affairs activities.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Anticipate, identify, monitor, make recommendations, create strategy, and respond to state and federal regulatory and legislative developments and issues relevant to Blackfoot, including our revenue, products, services, customers and employees.
Work with Blackfoot’s Executive Team to develop, and then execute, regulatory, legislative and public policy positions and strategies.
Ability and willingness to comprehend complex federal and state regulations and collaborate with Blackfoot’s operating business units to implement such regulations.
Speak on behalf of and represent Blackfoot on state and federal regulatory and legislative policy working groups, state and local chamber of commerce events, community and state business events, legislative meetings, industry meetings, agency meetings, service clubs, and other relevant organizations to Blackfoot’s business initiatives or as delegated by the CEO.
Draft and present on behalf of Blackfoot policy papers, speeches, briefing sheets, regulatory and legislative responses and testimony, and opinion pieces.
Build strong and effective working relationships with industry related offices and staff, and local, state and federal officials, including but not limited to state legislators, Congressional members and staff, and Federal Communications Commission staff.
Coordinate Blackfoot’s lobbying at the local, state and Federal levels, including direct lobbying where appropriate.
Develop and manage the budget for all areas of responsibilities, ensure company financial objectives are met.
