NineStar Connect is an innovative community-minded, communications, energy, water and sewer cooperative. We provide the infrastructure that empowers thoughtful development and improves quality of place in Central Indiana.
Works day-to-day with the core service provider network, including the multiple 10Gb rings, DSLAM equipment, video head-end, and special circuits. Assists with the responsibility of researching and testing of new technologies with regard to NineStar’s infrastructure. Main point of contact for escalation of active fiber customers and design planning for potential customers. Responsible for all duties of IP Services including installing, configuring, and supporting our multiple 10Gb rings, DSLAM equipment, video head-end, and special circuits. Work with Support Techs to provide Tier III support to customers. Provide training and support to NineStar employees.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Installs and maintains LAN/WAN hardware, software and networks involved in voice, data and video communications for internal and external customers.
2. Provides Tier III support for ISP customers.
3. Upgrades and maintains external ISP network (Servers, switches, databases, etc.)
4. Provide training and support for NineStar employees.
5. * Performs other duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

o IP & IPTV protocols and services
o installing and troubleshooting special circuits
o creating and implementing complex network designs and upgrades

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field plus a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5-7 years of related experience and CCNA. Previous experience as a Network Administrator preferred.
