Job Description

The LigTel Communications Sales Representative is a field sales position, selling fiber, voice, hosted and network services. The position will focus on showing prospective clients how LigTel Communications’ business solutions will help satisfy their evolving communications needs.

The Sales Representative reports directly to the Marketing Manager.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
• Identifies and secures sales and partnership opportunities through frequent top-level communication with established and potential major accounts customers
• Create and deliver proposals on product benefits, aligning with client needs
• Consistently achieve monthly sales and revenue quotas
• Take initiative to educate and recommend other LigTel services that would be beneficial to customers
• Identify target markets, industries and contacts for product portfolio
• Serve as a communication link between customers and internal teams
• Perform necessary on-site coordination and follow-up to ensure a long-term partnership while providing high customer satisfaction
• Maintain customer database
• Stay informed on market trends and developments
• Actively engaged in business community through organizations such as Chambers of Commerce, civic organizations, economic development organizations and customer-specific events
• Monitors and researches new products that may be offered by the company
• Enhances LigTel’s visibility in traditional and nontraditional markets
• Identify target markets, industries and contacts for products and services from company
• Implements detailed tracking of competitive information
• Attend sales meetings and training sessions
• Professional appearance and demeanor needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Must be able to make independent and timely decisions following guidelines. Receives guidance with respect to general objectives; in the majority of tasks and projects assigned, determines methods, work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments; operates within specific policy guidelines. Handles large volumes of detailed work requiring accurate documentation. Must be self-sufficient and dependable. Must be able to demonstrate superior customer service skills. Must be an excellent listener. Must have good reasoning skills to assist customers who have difficult problems and or questions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Bachelor's Degree in business or technology-related field or equivalent work experience (required)

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Deadline driven in a dynamic fast-paced environment
• Motivated by commission based model
• Coachable, with entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently
• Knowledge of data networking and IT services preferred
• Experience with LAN and WAN technologies, high-capacity and fiber networks preferred
• Experience responding to RFP or RFI requests preferred
