On Wednesday, February 12, 2014, Shirley Bloomfield, Chief Executive Officer of NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association (“NTCA”), and Mike Romano, Senior Vice President-Policy, met with Jonathan Chambers, Chief of the Office of Strategic Policy and Planning Analysis, to discuss matters in the above-referenced proceedings. Matters discussed included the structure of the rural broadband experiments soon to be conducted by the Federal Communications Commission (the “Commission”), the substantial interest of NTCA members in participating in such experiments, and how those experiments will be managed to ensure coordination with existing high-cost universal service principles and programs.
