On January 14, 2020, NTCA met with staff from the FCC Wireline Competition Bureau ("WCB") to discuss the urgent need for IP interconnection rules for voice traffic. The association stated that simple "rules of the road" will hasten rural carrier participation in anti robocalling standards as well as ensure the continued affordability of voice rates in rural areas.
