NTCA Files Reply Comments on the Cable Television Consumer Protection and Competition Act

On December 14, 2018, NTCA filed reply comments on the Commission's Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding the Cable Television Consumer Protection and Competition Act of 1992.  NTCA supported comments filed by the American Cable Association (ACA) and the National Cable Telecommunications Association (NCTA) which the Communications Act dictates that "any tax, fee or assessment of any kind" required as part of the cable franchise agreement is subject to the 5% cap on franchise fees unless the fee is specifically excluded by the Act.
