ARLINGTON, Va. (June 21, 2013) – NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association announced today its members will have access to UnitedHealthcare’s national provider network and other health utilization management services beginning January 2014. UnitedHealthcare’s provider network includes 780,000 physicians and care professionals, and 5,900 hospitals and other care facilities nationwide.

“Our focus is to ensure NTCA members have access to health care at reasonable costs,” said NTCA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shirley Bloomfield. “The selection of UnitedHealthcare gives participants in NTCA’s Group Health Program (GHP) access to a national care provider network, with discounts on health care services available to NTCA member employees, their families and retirees.”

Toney Prather, chairman of the GHP Trust Committee, said: “We are excited about this new relationship with UnitedHealthcare, and the potential for long-term cost control results for the GHP. This action will allow NTCA members to continue to provide affordable health care benefits to their workforce.”
