Avoid Common Networking Mistakes in New Rural Broadband Buildouts
Thursday, August 12, 2021

About the Webinar
Somewhere between 22 and 43 million Americans are without adequate broadband service. Spurred by recent FCC funding, utilities and regional service providers are building out wireless and FTTH broadband networks to extend coverage and provide higher-speed access. Deployment schedules are short, and budgets are tight. Investment mistakes in the wrong networking approach will eat up precious capital and time that could be used for extending coverage to more homes and businesses.
Rapid deployment of high-speed fiber or wireless access is only part of the challenge. Key elements of the data center or core network must also be reassessed in light of industry trends and security threats and to meet the rush of new subscribers and traffic. Near-term budget restraints, rising DDoS threats to IP-connected devices, and the co-existence of IPv4 and IPv6 are all important considerations for the core network that supports broadband access. Operators need to carefully evaluate new deployment options.
Join us on this webinar to explore deployment options that meet subscriber growth without straining capital budgets:
- Current Trends in IP Connectivity
- Why IPv4 and IPv6 will co-exist for years
- How CGNAT can help tight budgets
- DDoS threats to subscribers and network infrastructure
- Avoiding short-term investment pitfalls
- How a managed service model can provide carrier grade IT and networking infrastructure rapidly and with lower cost
