Broadband modernization projects often stall not from a lack of ambition, but because writing and running an RFP can consume months (sometimes a year or more) of an already stretched team's time. In this session, gaiia's Shawn McIntyre is joined by Ryan Jeffery, managing director, Passionate About OSS, and Brendan Ratter, principal, Kearney, to unpack a modern, two-stage approach to RFPs that shortlists vendors in weeks rather than months and scores on real business outcomes instead of feature checklists or lowest price.

Attendees will learn why traditional RFPs fall into the "three forevers" trap (forever to prepare, forever to respond, forever to evaluate) and how to avoid it; how to structure a rapid Stage 1 shortlist alongside a deeper Stage 2 evaluation built around real workflows and total cost of ownership rather than slideware; how to involve field, care, and commercial stakeholders early without slowing the process down; and a practical framework they can apply to their next system selection.
