Home Telecom (Moncks Corner, S.C.) expanded its SmartTown Community Wi-Fi to Moncks Corner earlier this year, bringing faster, more secure internet access to key public spaces throughout the community.
The move follows the success of the inaugural launch in the Nexton community last year, and it marks an important step in Home Telecom’s ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity and protect users beyond their homes.
Unlike typical public Wi-Fi, SmartTown offers the same level of security customers enjoy at home, ensuring residents and visitors can connect safely while enjoying community events, ball games and gatherings at places like the Town of Moncks Corner Recreational Complex and the Moncks Corner Farmer’s Market.
“We’re excited to see how SmartTown Wi-Fi is making it easier for everyone to stay connected while enjoying all that Moncks Corner has to offer,” said Mayor Thomas Hamilton.
To celebrate the expansion, Home Telecom provided early access to SmartTown Wi-Fi during the St. Patrick’s Day Festival on Main Street and officially unveiled the service during the opening week of spring sports for the Town of Moncks Corner recreation leagues. For customers and visitors alike, SmartTown is creating new opportunities for reliable, secure connections and community engagement.
Gina Shuler, vice president of marketing at Home Telecom, said the company plans to continue expanding SmartTown networks so customers can enjoy seamless, protected access no matter where they are in the service area. In fact, a large high school in Moncks Corner will have SmartTown service activated in August, just in time for Friday night football.
