(August 26) In reply comments filed with the FCC, NTCA stated that there is widespread opposition to the relaxation of the National Television Multiple Ownership Rule. The reply comments stated that relaxing the rule would further hamper small rural providers’ ability to negotiate with broadcasters for reasonable retransmission consent fees and is also something the commission does not have the legal authority to do.
