(August 21) In comments to the FCC, NTCA urged the commission not to mandate the detariffing of subscriber line and access recovery charges, warning that doing so would increase regulatory uncertainty and create new burdens and confusion for providers and consumers. Instead, the commission should take a more measured approach that allows providers to detariff voluntarily based on market conditions while preserving stability and support for universal service goals.
