— NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association released the following statement from NTCA CEO Shirley Bloomfield after the FCC released a Public Notice opening a new docket focused on deregulatory initiatives:
“We are grateful to Chairman Carr for jump-starting this initiative to identify rules that impose unnecessary regulatory burdens, could be reformed to operate more efficiently or are no longer necessary in light of marketplace changes. It’s important that this effort be undertaken carefully to realize the benefits of such examination without creating unintended consequences for FCC policies and priorities, but the Public Notice provides a useful catalyst for such a thoughtful conversation, and NTCA is eager to participate in this proceeding.”
