NTCA Congratulates Carr on FCC Chair Designation

NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association today issued the following statement from CEO Shirley Bloomfield after President Donald Trump officially designated FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr as Chair:  
     
“NTCA congratulates Brendan Carr on being designated officially as chairman of the FCC. The fact that this designation came on President Trump’s first day in office speaks volumes to the clear confidence that the president has in Chairman Carr and the desire to hit the ground running on key communications policy priorities. Chairman Carr has long been a champion of rural broadband, he has made repeated efforts to get out in the field to see what the delivery of broadband means for American consumers and businesses, and he has consistently supported improvements and enhancements to the FCC’s universal service initiatives that are critical to getting and keeping rural America connected. NTCA and its members look forward to continuing to work with Chairman Carr as he assumes the leadership of the FCC.”
