As my colleague Chris Lovell shared with you, Operation IFAST (ISPs Fight Against Sex Trafficking) is making a difference in our fight against sex trafficking. I work for Guardian Group, the nonprofit organization that helps law enforcement identify and recover victims of sex trafficking across the U.S., and I am proud to share that we are already making an impact.
Last month, a young trafficking victim was identified through Guardian Group’s victim identification program. Her information was sent to a law enforcement officer, and the officer passed the report along to authorities nearly 100 miles away, resulting in a successful recovery operation.
Because of that one connection, a multi-agency effort came together. The victim is now safe, connected to care and services, and her trafficker is facing federal charges.
This recovery didn’t happen by accident. It happened because a company chose to participate in IFAST. And your participation can change lives, too.
One new way to get involved is through IFAST Certification, which takes your commitment to the next level. Certified companies must:
- Train 80% of their staff using Guardian Group’s online course
- Make a $1,591 annual donation to support victim identification
- Connect at least one law enforcement contact to Guardian Group
In return, certified companies receive:
- A trust symbol for use on vehicles, websites and marketing
- Continued access to staff training and printed indicator cards
- Public recognition from Guardian Group and on the NTCA’s website
- Templates, media support and ongoing partnership resources
