Cassidy Hjelmstad is the CEO/general manager of SRT Communications, North Dakota’s largest telecommunications cooperative.
For the past 11 years, Cassidy has held leadership positions at SRT, successfully driving business goals, building SRT’s brand, reputation and engagement, and positioning the cooperative for future growth and advancement. As chief marketing officer, Cassidy led strategy to increase product sales while delivering exceptional customer service. A member of the executive team, her responsibilities included overseeing public relations and marketing, executing multiple product campaigns, and leading community outreach.
Prior to joining SRT in 2011, Cassidy was director of community relations for the Phoenix Suns. She earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications, journalism, and communications studies from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
Cassidy demonstrates expertise in customer-centric selling, digital marketing, engagement marketing, public policy, competitive market analysis, business strategy, client relationship-building, sales forecasting and budget planning. Equally embracing servant leadership and cooperative principles, her core values include accountability, integrity, humility, teamwork, relationships and empowerment.
She serves the region through several board and committee appointments, including committee chair of the NTCA Marketing Committee (NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association); member of the NTCA Smart Rural Community Advisory Committee; treasurer of the Broadband Association of North Dakota (BAND) Marketing Committee; board member of the Minot Area Chamber Economic Development Corp.; board vice chair of Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports; and board member of the Minot Area Community Foundation.
Originally from Newburg, North Dakota, Cassidy and her husband, Travis, live in Minot with their three children: TJ, Thomas and Claire.
