Dan Carter is a telecommunications executive with a career spanning leadership roles in entrepreneurship, executive management, strategic growth, and technology. He has a proven track record of scaling startups into multi-million-dollar enterprises, leading high-performing teams, and pioneering international business ventures.
Currently, Dan serves as Vice President of Consulting at JSI, where he leads Management and Operational consulting services, offering trusted strategic guidance to clients. Prior to JSI, he held executive roles including Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Vantage Point Solutions and Vice President at Finley Engineering. Earlier, he was Senior Vice President at Midland Group and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development & General Manager of the Access Business Group at TelStrat—following TelStrat’s acquisition of Infinitec Networks, a venture-backed company Dan founded.
A serial entrepreneur, Dan also founded Vanguard Communications, which he successfully sold to Telect (now Amphenol Network Solutions), and co-founded Valiant Communications Ltd in New Delhi, which continues to operate today. Before these ventures, he launched and ran an engineering consulting firm specializing in communications, power electronics, and software solutions for global clients. His early career included engineering and management roles at Seiscor Technologies (a Raytheon company) and Central and Southwest Services (now American Electric Power).
As a designer/innovator, Dan holds patents for power and communications systems. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Tulsa. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in multiple states and a member of IEEE and NCEES. He has also completed executive education in Strategic Marketing Management at Harvard Business School, along with advanced studies in Business Management and Accounting.
