John Suter serves as NCSC (formerly RTFC)’s vice president of economic research, a role that provides capital markets and general economic research and analysis to RTFC executive staff, directors and members. John regularly delivers updates on the state of the economy at rural utility meetings across the country and also writes two biweekly economic columns for NCSC’s affiliate, the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corp. As well, he delivers weekly podcasts on the economy and also pens financial analysis for NCSC publications. John joined NCSC in 1984 as an operations analyst and was promoted to the treasury division two years later, where he has remained, performing a variety of roles. He holds a master’s degree in economics from Bowling Green State University and an M.B.A. in finance and investments from George Washington University. He also is a chartered financial analyst.
