As part of our ongoing mission to bring more value to members and member organizations, AMAC sponsored two educational sessions during RTIME. The “Sales Team Success” session was organized by AMAC councilmembers Byron Tuley and Dave Manfredo, and the “Finding Your Wireless and Cell Sweet Spot” session was orchestrated and moderated by councilmember Dustin Meier.

During our “Sales Team Success” session, attendees learned how to accelerate revenue by embarking on a sales-focused cultural transformation. Culture changes are often difficult to execute, but the expert panel offered up helpful guidance for motivating this change, including establishing incentives and contests to sales and customer service employees, ensuring customer engagement is at the forefront of every employee’s mind, and achieving buy-in from employees across the organization. The panel concluded that all employees must feel a sense of accountability toward revenue goals and that organizational leaders are responsible for instilling that sense. As moderator Dave Manfredo put it, “No matter what role you play in the business, everyone has to be a salesperson in today’s world.”

The “Finding Your Wireless and Small Cell Sweet Spot” session brought together three unique perspectives on using wireless technologies for last-mile broadband deployment. With all 200 seats filled and the walls lined with overflow attendees, Dustin Meier facilitated a discussion amongst representatives from the manufacturing, engineering and deployment perspectives of wireless technologies. As anticipated, much of the discussion centered around how each panel member foresaw 5G technology transforming traditional small cell and fixed wireless technologies, including the benefits and threats of 5G and the time frame rural providers can anticipate when planning for 5G deployments. While many questions certainly remain about the future of 5G in rural America, attendees were able to gain a better understanding of how this disruptive technology may affect their organizations in the coming years.

Please be on the lookout for future AMAC-sponsored content during the Summer Symposiums and Fall Conference, and do not hesitate to reach out to any councilmember to suggest topics you’d like to hear about!
