(August 19) In comments filed with the FCC, NTCA shared its support for the commission’s proposal to extend the separations freeze for at least six years, if not longer. NTCA wrote that the commission should use the transitionary period as an opportunity to direct the Federal/State Joint Board upon referral during this extension to assess whether the technological transitions and consumer-driven shifts, as well as and other factors discussed in the comments, may moot the need for sweeping separations reform.
