(November 18) In comments addressing an FCC public notice inquiring as to the efficacy of caller-ID authentication technology, NTCA stated that facilitating the IP transition is the best step towards making this technology work as intended. NTCA also stated that the commission should advance the IP transition with clear and reasonable “rules of the road” for IP interconnection that ensure rural consumers have access to both affordable and reliable voice service and protection from spoofing.
