Steelville Telephone is currently taking applications for a Full-Time Outside Plant Technician. Job duties includes burying drops, setting peds, installing NIDs, wiring in Central Office, running heavy equipment such as plows, trenchers and backhoes, installing wireless internet, DSL, modems and jacks, and performing other tasks for the purpose of ensuring the work of Outside Plant is completed in an efficient and effective manner.
Must be highly self- motivated, proactive, an excellent communicator, and enjoys working in a fast-paced setting. Must also be a strong strategic thinker, highly organized, and have the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Skills include: human relations, decision-making, problem-solving, writing, phone, math, computer and oral communications. High School diploma is required. Must have a valid MO driver’s license with a good driving record and a CDL Class A.
Experience in telecommunications and running a Ditch Witch, backhoe, bucket truck, truck and trailer, and dump truck is preferred. Frequent bending, carrying, lifting, squatting, and twisting is required and must be able to work in all types of weather. An insurable driving record, preliminary drug screening, and background check are required.
