Carissa Swenson brings over 13 years of experience in the rural broadband sector, initially as a cooperative director and training consultant. Transitioning to her role as the Executive Director for the Broadband Association of North Dakota (BAND) in August 2022, she continues her dedicated service to the industry. Carissa holds bachelor's degrees in business administration and business education, complemented by a master's degree in Instructional Technology. With a residence in Bismarck, ND, Carissa has immersed herself in communities with populations under 500 for over three decades, fostering a profound understanding of rural dynamics. Her passion for rural broadband drives her advocacy, amplifying the success stories of BAND's members. Alongside her husband Doug and two teenage sons, Carissa embraces the challenges and triumphs of rural life.
