Lizzy Simmons

Lizzy Simmons is vice president of government relations and workforce development at the National Retail Federation. In this capacity,

Simmons is responsible for the association’s workforce policy agenda, including labor, immigration and workforce development. She also manages NRF’s Committee on Employment Law. Prior to joining NRF, Simmons worked in the office of Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), staffing the Senator on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. As the Senator’s lead policy advisor on education, labor and pensions policies, Simmons drafted legislation and worked collaboratively with committee staff to advance the Senator’s priorities.

Previously, Simmons served as a legislative assistant to then-Congressman Scott’s office, advising on a wide array of policy issues, and worked on political campaigns. Originally from Charleston, S.C., Simmons received her master’s degree in legislative affairs from George Washington University. She graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University with a B.A.
