(Oct 15) NTCA met with staff from the FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau to discuss a proposal to address the subset of small carriers that are enabling large volumes of illegal robocalls. NTCA noted that the proposed rule to target these entities with accelerated call authentication implementation deadlines is overly-inclusive – a NTCA proposal to more precisely target bad actors would spare innocent providers.
