(Apr 29) In correspondence to the FCC, NTCA pointed to the substantial efforts its members made in the face of the pandemic to meet increasing needs for robust and affordable broadband connectivity for new and existing customers and discussed how the resurgent budget control mechanism would undermine these efforts. NTCA further noted that it appreciates the FCC’s recent announcement that it will consider longer-term enhancements to the ACAM support program, and encouraged the agency to address the immediate budget control mechanism concerns as well as seek comment on how to best update CAF-BLS and HCLS support to better align these programs moving forward.
