NTCA Reiterates Need for STIR/SHAKEN Implementation

In a letter filed on November 3, NTCA reiterated the need for a forthcoming FCC report to Congress on the status of STIR/SHAKEN implementation to include a discussion of barriers to nationwide implementation of this technology.  Despite calls for the report to only accentuate the positive, as NTCA noted, Congress indicated it interest in understanding whether this technology will be successful in reducing unwanted calls.   As NTCA explained, STIR/SHAKEN only works when providers all across the country can implement it, and any barrier to that undermines the efficacy of this technology.
