NTCA, WISPA Recommend FCC to Stand Down Additional Broadband Label Requirements

(May 25) NTCA and WISPA visited with FCC staff to discuss broadband label requirements. The parties explained that the Commission’s investigation of additional broadband label requirements is premature since even the initial rules have not yet become effective. Accordingly, it is too soon to determine whether additional obligations or adjustments are necessary. The parties also explained why the Commission’s estimated costs for carrier compliance are not consistent with burdens anticipated by smaller providers, and urged the Commission to revisit their calculations to ensure a more accurate projection.
