(Feb 18) In response to a White House directive, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Institute of Technology (NIST) sought feedback on preliminary cybersecurity performance goals for critical infrastructure owners and operators. NTCA joined the Communications Sector Coordinating Council in providing comments encouraging CISA and NIST to adopt goals flexible enough to allow small and providers the ability to meet them without the need for trained cybersecurity or IT professionals or a substantial financial investment in hardware, software or cloud-based tools intended to decrease companies’ cyber risk.
