(July 5) In comments supporting a CCA petition for reconsideration, NTCA joined CCA in requesting that the FCC reconsider new requirements that covered 911 service providers and originating service providers notify 911 facilities of outages no later than within 30 minutes of when an outage is discovered, regardless of whether they are discovered by a third-party transport provider or a covered 911 service provider. NTCA also supported CCA’s request that the FCC establish a centralized PSAP (public safety answering point) and 911 special facilities operator contact database.
