NTCA Filing Supports Goal of Securing Internet Routing in a Manner that Considers the Capabilities of Small Operators’ Networks

(Apr 11) NTCA filed comments in response to the FCC’s Notice of Inquiry seeking comment on steps the Commission should take to facilitate the implementation of industry standards meant to guard against rerouting Internet traffic.  In the comments, NTCA recommended the Commission carefully evaluate the financial and technical feasibility of small network operators’ ability to implement possible standards alongside the extent to which requiring adoption of these standards would prevent Internet traffic from being maliciously or inadvertently rerouted.
