NTCA Points to Universal Service Implications of NG911 Petition for Rulemaking

(Jan 19) In comments filed in response to a petition seeking a rulemaking on the delivery of NG 911 traffic, NTCA urged the FCC to account for significant new transport costs that could be absorbed by small, rural customer bases. NTCA further stated that the FCC should deal with IP voice traffic exchange on a more holistic basis, as the costs at issue in the Petition, as well as the hurdles to increased use of NG 911 and IP voice traffic exchange across the board, do not exist in isolation.
