(Feb 22) In comments to the USDA Forest Service, NTCA stated that it supported the use of a new fee on broadband providers that would directly support the agency hiring staff to process permits for access land under its purview. Access to any agency lands for broadband network installation is a time-consuming process, and any steps to hire new staff to expedite the process are welcome. NTCA stated that the fee amount, however, must be better justified and must not be diverted by the agency for other uses.
