NTCA Proposes a Method by Which Additional ACP Support Could Make Broadband More Affordable for Low-Income Rural Consumers

(Mar 16) In comments filed in the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program, NTCA addressed the Congressional mandate for an enhanced ACP subsidy for low-income consumers in “high-cost” areas. NTCA proposed that by definition the areas where NTCA members receive universal service support fit the criteria for this program and noted that the FCC must establish a separate process if such support goes to other carriers in other areas.
