NTCA Recommends FCC Clearly Define Public Safety Purpose When Allowing Access to Network Outage Reports

NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association, filed reply comments with the FCC on June 1, 2020, pertaining to the FCC’s proposal to grant federal, state and tribal entities with a public safety purpose access to the Network Outage Reporting Database and Disaster Information Reporting Database.  In its reply comments, NTCA recommended the FCC clearly define “public safety purpose” and reinforced its recommendation that the FCC put security measures in place to help ensure the information contained in the database remains available only to those granted access by the FCC.
