NTCA Reinforces Recommendation that Voice Service Truth in Billing Rules Apply to VoIP

On March 13, 2020, NTCA filed reply comments with the Federal Communications Commission recommending that if the FCC believes consumers need charges for voice services to be more transparent, it should extend existing truth-in-billing rules applicable to fixed telephone service to interconnected VoIP service.  NTCA noted that this extending voice services rules makes sense due to the fact that interconnected VoIP services provide customers with a service much like traditional wireline service.
